Handcrafted glass meets porcelain manufacture: Students from the HBK Saar and the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin came together in the summer of 2026 at the Centre International d’Art Verrier (CIAV) in Meisenthal in France, for a joint workshop. Working with the local glassmakers, they experimentally explored the potential of traditional artisanal glassmaking and its integration into the local culture of the Pays de Bitche region. The resulting glass objects are on display in the historic ring kiln hall of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin.

Manuelle Glasherstellung trifft Porzellanmanufaktur. Studierende der HBK Saar und der Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin kamen im Sommer 2026 im Centre International d’Art Verrier (CIAV) Meisenthal, Frankreich, zu einem Workshop zusammen. Mit den dortigen Glasmacher:innen erkundeten sie experimentell die Potentiale traditioneller handwerklicher Glasmacherkunst und ihre Einbettung in die lokale Kultur der Region Pays de Bitche. Die entstandenen Glasobjekte werden in der Historischen Ringkammerofenhalle der Königlichen Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin ausgestellt.
